I stumbled across a website for the Simon Wiesenthal Multimedia Learning Center that was hosting an exhibit called "I Still See Their Faces". It featured photographs of Jews in Poland before and during the Holocaust. The photos survived somehow, but most of their models did not. Most of the photos are snapshots of posed family members, but a few of them are quite artful. The captions explaining them are haunting.
Here's I've taken Pictures 416 and 340 from over 450 in the exhibition and rendered them in pen & ink.
